“sometimes i feel pretty bad for not posting a lot of artwork. i used to crank out like 5 pics a day back in 2004, when i was just discovering digital art. over time, this has gradually decreased… am i losing my enthusiasm? sometimes i think so, but then i have to admit that i’m just getting old. it’s become a necessity to draw within conventional work hours and peel myself away from the computer at all other times, just to stay sane and keep up with all the other things that i have to do, that just come with being an adult and not having your mommy do everything for you :[“

Exact same thing’s happening to me at the moment. Back when I lived at home, I used to be able to dish out several pictures a week, but that’s dropped to an all-time low of probably one completed painting per month. Insane! Sometimes I feel very disappointed in myself, but now that I’m out on my own and my artwork is not my main focus anymore, I’ve had to sacrifice some of the time I used to reserve for it.

I’m not suggesting leaving the nest means no more free time. I’ve seen folks out there in similar situations who can crank out artwork like there’s no tomorrow! I probably just need to get used to budgeting my time.
